Dillon Brooks isn’t backing away from his long-running rivalry with LeBron James.
Appearing with the NBA 2K League, the Phoenix Suns forward jokingly embraced his reputation as one of James’ biggest critics, calling himself LeBron’s “top hater” while urging the four-time NBA champion to finally make a decision about his future.
“I need him to hurry up and pick a team,” Brooks said with a laugh before predicting that James will ultimately sign with the Golden State Warriors.
The comments come as speculation surrounding LeBron’s future continues to dominate the NBA offseason. While multiple teams have reportedly monitored the situation, including the Los Angeles Lakers and Golden State Warriors, James has yet to publicly reveal where he’ll play next.
Brooks and James have developed one of the NBA’s most recognizable rivalries over the past several seasons. Their feud reached its peak during the 2023 NBA Playoffs when Brooks repeatedly taunted James before the Lakers eliminated the Memphis Grizzlies in six games. Since then, Brooks has continued to embrace the villain role whenever discussing the NBA legend.

Although Brooks’ prediction should be taken as lighthearted speculation rather than insider information, his comments are sure to fuel even more discussion about LeBron’s next destination.
Until James officially announces his decision, every comment—from league insiders to self-proclaimed “top haters” like Brooks—is likely to become part of the ongoing offseason conversation.
